Sepia Scenes - Where'd The Time Go?

This picture was taken about 20 years ago at Old Greenville bridge just north of Poplar Bluff on St. Francois River.
It was flooded that day, so I carried my daughter through the water to sit there on the rocks to have our picture taken - she was 4 or 5 & I was about 20... yes, I had her very very young.
I don't remember what kind of camera it was, but obviously not a good one and I can't make up my mind whether I like the original below or the sepia tone above better.

Even though the camera wasn't a very good one, the photo captured many memories. I guess yiur mind will fill in the bits the photo doesn't show.

The time seems to pass by so quickly. However we still do have our memories and better yet, the pictures to prove it all, like how our kids were little once. You two pose happily on the river bank. Both are nice, but I am drawn to the sepia, the warmth of the tone highlights the warmth between mother and daughter...

I like the enhancement with the sepia. Such a nice idea, to photograph the two of you in that pretty setting.

Sepia, shepia, either way this photo provides priceless memories. Lots of changes in 20 years, right?

I love the sepia Tricia! I'm with Ralph about the warmth it gives the photo.
Growing up we never had a good camera but I do wish Mom and Dad had taken more photos anyway just so we would have them.

I don't know where time goes! I actually like the sepia picture better than the original--it creates a nostalgic ambience. It's great to have those old photo's though. I wouldn't trade mine for anything.

Oh --I love seeing the old pictures, Tricia. You should feature more of them. It's YOU --and it's your life. I love it!!!!! Great picture...

Hugs,
Betsy

Neat photo Tricia. I like the sepia best. It does give it a warm feel. MB

As with most, I like the sepia enhanced better. Love the warm contrast and it actually draws the eye to you and your daughter then to the ripples of the water.

Thank you stopped by my page. Beautiful Sepia pictures you have added to the challenge.

Thanks for visiting my blog! The sepia made the image more nostalgic :o)

It's a beautiful setting and the memories attached seem very fresh! I think most photographs from 20 years will be in a similar state. More so I think because they do not take to scanning. The Sepia does give it a really nice look.

This loving photo brings back nice memories for you, I'm sure. Ah, the days when our children were little!

Your daughter is 25? (I can add ;-)) Our daughter is 21. The years do fly by.

I like the warmth that the sepia tone brings to the photo.

The reflection of the trees is pretty!

LOVE the sepia. It restores the picture and pays hommage to the time that has passed since it was taken.

I like the way the water is rippling and the way the trees are reflected in it! I think I like the sepia better.

Both are family treasures, but I think I prefer the sepia toned one better. What an interesting scene in which to take your picture back then.

That's really neat Tricia! I love looking at the old photos pulled from the archives. I love seeing how the quality of the photos has changed - I don't always think the newer technology takes better pictures! :o)

I think I like the original picture best out of these two. It's hard to say; I like them both!

I like the sepia version better. Sepia is wonderful for bringing back memories of days gone by.

Forgot to tell you about the frame.

the frame was easy. I selected a square and inverted it. Then used one of the filters on that area.

Both versions are so nice, and what a wonderful memory. I'm glad we have photos or I wouldn't remember half the kid's childhoods :-).
