Macro Monday - Peony Pink

I smoothed the 1st image & added a grainy finish to the 2nd one -
Can't make up my mind which one I like best.

i like 'em both! happy mother's day!

Both are very nice. Our peonies are just about 6 inches tall, no buds yet.

i can never decide either, i think i've come to the conclusion that the grain works well if your background is not good, or boring. this has been the case with some of my earlier photos with dirt and the ones i've taken inside but just don't have anything going for them except that it's a flower, but with the grain and a cool frame they've been redeemed somewhat.

I love the pink peonys regardless of what you do to them.

About your UPDATE!!! I am so happy for you. Forgiving is so hard and it probably was hard for your daughter too. To let go I mean.
Happy Mother's Day to you and your MOM.

My Mother did have a small stroke and is better and they (hospital discharged her the next day) and I have been staying at her house in another town. I just came home tonight to get some stuff and will go back to help her out. Sigh!! MaryBeth

Peonies are beautiful! Great shots.

Both beautiful but if you twisted my arm and forced me to choose I think I might go for the first as favourite. :)

Beautiful! I like both of them too. I've heard peonies are hard to grow. Congrats on your success.

So pretty, bright and sunshine-y-full! :o)

I like the smooth one the best. I tend to run that way though, and generally chose smooth over grainy unless it's an old photo. Both are beautiful!

Jay said...

I like them both but I prefer the grainy image! Do you have peonies in bloom already? Lucky you!

Way to cold here for peonies!! Maybe in a month. Those are just beautiful. I thought I liked one better, then looked at two and liked it, then back to one lol. They are both nice

I rather like the smoothed shot, but they are both well done. And who can beat a vibrant pink peony for subject matter? They are gorgeous. I miss the peonies I had on my Ohio homestead. :)

had to stop back by because i realized that we are in the same state....
the big mo.

Our peonies barely have buds on them. I'll enjoy yours until ours bloom.

Beautiful Peonies, Tricia. I like both of them---but guess I prefer the 2nd one.

Hugs,
Betsy

I know it doesn't matter, but I rather like the smooth one best...either way you did a great job of catching the color and keeping the photo sharp...

No...come to think of it, I think I like the second one best...

Aw, maybe the first one...

Hmm...OK, I like them both the best.

Okay I'll stick my neck out here. I like the first one. I'm not a big fan of gritty color photos. It seems to work better with certain black and white images.

Beautiful peonies. I do love them.

I want to reach over there and feel those flower petals! BEAUTIFUL!

(2. is my favorite.)

Lovely.. ^^

Two fine pictures with rich colors and a nice amount of detail. If I had to pick, I would choose the second one for more apparent detail.

Hi,
bellissime queste tue foto....
la rosa è veramente molto bella fotografata così da vicino...
peccato non poterne sentire anche il profumo !
Grazie della tua visita e buona serata :-)
