Hi tricia, thanks for the comment on my blog. Yes we sure are rainier but the Mt. is pronounced 'Ray-neer'. Named after a British Admiral Peter Rainier by the first explorer to see the mountain, Captain Vancouver. The Indians named it Tahome meaning snow or ice field. She is an active volcano also. MB
