Macro Flowers & Macro Monday - Vibrant Orange

A new meme - My 1st post here

Ok, you guys gotta help me!
I'm looking to buy Photo Shop (since that's what everybody is using & all the tutorials I'm finding on textures are instructed in Photo Shop & I really want to learn how to add textures)
But I don't know what version to get.
I can't afford the expensive versions, so which one should I get?
Please help!

BTW, I sold my Bose Radio/CD Player, but my Minolta is still for sale.
If you're interested, please let me know!

Love that orange!!

I'm currently using PSE7, and am upgrading to CS5 soon. Photoshop elements will do most of what the expensive photoshop will do, and there are LOTS of actions available for elements. You can use textures in elements. If you are a college student, or know one, you can get CS5 using a student ID for $199. Hope that helps!

Welcome to macro Flowers Saturday and thanks for sharing your beautiful work!

I have no advice for photoshop, I don't use it. There are many free editing excellent software out there, not to mention online editing tools.

Have a great Sunday!

This is one of the most beautiful oranges I have seen. Very well done.

We have Photoshop Elements, which is very affordable and does almost everything you could want to do with JPEG photos. I shoot many of my pictures in RAW, so I'm upgrading to the full version of Photoshop. As an owner of Elements I'm getting it for about half price.

I use Photoshop Lightroom 3 since I process a lot of photos, that helps me a lot of time. Very easy to use and with a flickr plugin which you can instantly download your photos direct from your LR, it's a bit pricey but I loved it. You can try the PS Elements 8, it's sold at ebay for a minimum of $56 the last time I checked.

Oh, btw I almost forgot...your lily flower is vibrant, I love the color.

I am not a ps user, sorry, no info to share.

Krista said...

Wow. this shot is spectacular Tricia! What do you need photoshop for? LOL!

I am using Photoshop Elements 8 currently and I love it! I have never used anything higher/better so I can't give you a comparison that way but I am very pleased with PSE8. It takes alot of learning though; tutorials are great!

Gorgeous! I love the colors! Kinda looks like an orchid center. So nice!

As for photoshop I was using CS4 before I upgraded to a Mac computer and haven't wanted to spend the money to get it for the Mac so I'm using Elements 8 and I have to say it does everything I need it too.

Carletta said...

No other word but vibrant would fit as well! Beautiful!

I have Photoshop Elements 8 but I haven't as yet learned to use it. I really need someone to show me. :)
I'm lucky to have a microsoft program that is very old that does some texture. The things I see others doing are amazing so I know where you're coming from.

Yummy orange!

I think you'd do fine with Photoshop Elements and as others have said, it is relatively inexpensive. Actually, PE5 through PE8 would suit your purposes fine.

I've got Photoshop CS4, but I don't begin to use all of its capabilities...I'd be just as well off using PE8.

Well I done have anything but what is available on my computer. Maybe I should just to experiment a bit.
What I shoot is what comes out of my camera just as I see it too.

You always have wonderful shots and this Macro is great. MB
