Sky Watch Friday - Shaw's Garden

This is the Linnean House inside Missouri Botanical Garden
& as you can see, they're renovating it and should be finished Spring 2011.
The bottom shot was taken off of a sign in front of the house
from 150 years ago when Mr. Shaw first opened the gardens.
Taken Saturday October 16th, 2010
yes, the sky really was that blue

Wonderful blue in the sky, and great to have gardens with such a long history.

Fantastic, the blue sky looks so pretty through those brick arches!

Love the building up against that vivid blue sky. I bet it will be wonderful once they have completed it.

A beautiful old structure. Our Gardens in Denver are also undergoing renovation, though there are no historical structures. I like the way the sky peeks through the building.

Old buildings like this feel so solid and conjure up great memories! Glad it is maintained.

Jacob said...

Yeah, now that I look a bit closer I see that its innards are missing! Pretty flowers in front, though, and nice blue sky, and I would imagine the building will be splendiforous when it is completed. And you will be there to take more photos, right?

Thanks, Tricia - your comments today meant a lot! Much appreciated!

You were at the Royal Gorge when you were 14? How cool is that? Probably enjoyed the gorge a whole lot more than I did.

Let's see you were 14 in, ah, what year was that? Oh yes, I remember ... that makes you ... oops! I guess I'd better not say any more!

I love your header photo too! Great colors in this SWF shot. Bricks always look good against blue skies. The house's name is almost like mine!
