Hwy 106 Bridge over Current River near Eminence, Missouri - October 2010
So, Kesley & I was driving around Sunday taking pics of the fall colors when we round a bend & Kes sees the sign in the top pic. She immediately says, "What? Why would they post a sign like that? Why are people on a bridge? What are they doing there?" She's really getting upset that a sign like this would be posted on such a dangerous road and on a bridge of all places!
We round the next bend & start across this bridge to see the sight on both sides & suddenly realize exactly why!
Well, I couldn't help but stop right there on the bridge & start gawking at the view & we open the car doors to get out, then it really hits us that we've became the 'Pedestrians on Bridge'!!!
By now we're laughing so hard that we're crying & we look up to see a vehicle rounding the bend heading toward us...
Jeez, I can only imagine that they had to think we were drunk seeing us both like that, hanging half out of the car...
then I actually FELL OUT!!!
I hid my face from them!!!

Wow! With views like those it's no wonder there are pedestrians there! What a pretty sight! (Hope you didn't get hurt when you fell out!)
Wonderful scenery.

I love moments like that...to laugh until you absolutely cannot stop! But...what a gorgeous scene that began all the hilarity!
I would have liked such a sign yesterday. I dearly wanted to stop on a bridge, get out and take some pictures. I decided it was too dangerous.
Beautiful! Great shots!
stupid sign for stupid peop.....lol, it is a nice view.
What a funny story Tricia. But where is the bridge? Don't fall in the water. MB
So you were the crazy lady I saw on the bridge.
What a cute story! That is a fabulous view.
LOL. What a beautiful photo. I'm glad you fell OUT and not IN. :-)
I too was thinking what's this sign means. Great to know you had fun. A very beautiful scenery too. Happy Wednesday!

Tricia,
Thanks for the laugh this morning! I about snorted my coffee! And your photos are SO gorgeous! Ah how I miss fall in the Ozarks. Really, the colors of the trees and the rock bluffs and the rivers are hard to beat.
Thanks for stopping on the bridge!
It takes your funny comment... with the pictures to get the full impact of your excellent post. These are great pictures of this beautiful river.
Lovely views, thanks for the chuckle!

That is a terrific story, Tricia. You had me laughing, too! With that kind of scenery, I'd stop and look, too. Can't believe you actually fell out. But you didn't get hurt, right?
Nah, you couldn't have taken such nice photos!
Beautiful header, and lovely photos.
I can sure see why you became a pedestrian.....beautiful!
I went on a landscape photo class, guided field trip Sunday and the guide was leaving Monday to float the Current for a few days...I can see why....
Wonderful shots and funny story, Tricia
I'm glad you became a pedestrian on the bridge and got these wonderful pictures.
Thanks, too, for the funny story.
Ha ha - great story; put a smile on my face. I was wondering exactly the same thing you were when I saw your first photo. First thought was - "are they permanently on the bridge ?" Then all was revealed and explained !
Love the view - nicely captured.
Great scenery ... love the view from the bridge!
