Which one do you fancy?

It's never taken me sooo long to change my template, or should I say, decide on a specific one, but I wound up going right back to the same one as I had.
Still no date showed up under the post title like it's suppose to, so I guess I'll just have to type it in at the top of each post.

From The Snow Storm

Obviously a 'no sunshine' day with all the snow falling, but it was sooo pretty watching it all day.
The 1st pic is 2 of my parent's work trucks, which they're an agent for Atlas Van Lines, in the falling snow.
The 2nd pic is my mom's Ford F250 Diesel, which is how I got home, because, like I said before, we're not used to this kind of weather & I wasn't about to drive in it. But my mom was a truck driver for Atlas for a lot of years, along w/ my dad, & they know how to drive in it & as you can see, she has the mean lookin' 4 wheel drive to get there safely.
She said her drive home after dropping me off was really dicey, because the highway department hadn't touched the roads way out there, so she had to be extra careful. She called me as she drove onto their driveway to let me know she made it home! Thank GOD!!!

I'm sorry, but I had to change my template colors back to black, plus, I think I'm gonna have to find another template, too, because this one doesn't show the date at the top of each post.
So, as of now, while I'm snowed in for the weekend, that's what I'm gonna be doing this evening.

Unusual Snow Day For These Parts

They forecast snow, sleet, ice, & rain for Southeast Missouri Thursday night, Friday, Friday night, & Saturday - however, absolutely nothing happened Thursday night, but the snow storm started about 8:45am Friday morning & snowed non-stop all day long - still snowing now at 10:25pm - an accumulation of approx. 6 inches so far, which is very unusual for around here & is why I'm making such a big deal of it. I remember snow & lots of it when I was a kid in the 70's, but then it tapered off... big time.

This photo was taken at 11:19am, as you can see by the time at the top of the Valley Plaza sign. This area of Southeast Missouri isn't used to this kind of weather, so when snow like this is forecast, we take heed!

I decided to turn this shot into an infra-red image, then bring out the color of specific parts. As you know, on a snowy day, everything seems very gray. I enhanced it, then brought out some color. I also wanted to include the original shot below.

They're calling for some pretty bad weather in the area over the next couple of days, but hopefully it won't turn out like the ice storm that hit us one year ago yesterday!

There was no accumulation last night,
but the snow started falling this morning at 8:45 & hasn't stopped since.
3-4 inches so far.

It was very cold outside when I took this picture & the sky was very dull, but the barn feel of the shot fits sepia!

We're in for some bad weather the next couple of days. They're calling for 3 - 12 inches of snow, but we'll see!
It was actually 1 year ago today when the ice storm hit & numerous homes were without electricity for up to a month.
DEAR GOD, don't let that happen ever again!

Watery Wednesday - Missing!

Gus Gus & Daisy have been pets at my parent's farm for quite some time - You may remember my post 'Goosed' back in Nov 09.

Well, as bad as I hate to report it, they've been missing since this past Saturday.

Some friends visited the farm that day to see the 9 baby sheep all born in Dec 09 & Jan 10 & they remember seeing the 2 ducks that day,

Bright Shawnee

I was taking pics of all the wonderful Autumn (2009) colors when Shawnee, my mom's Australian Sheppard, ran by.
Luckily, she's not a blur, but she is a bit bright.
I love the colors in the water, much more vibrant than in the actual trees themselves.
