My sister called last night to tell me that she hoped I was getting a picture of this beautiful sunset, however, she had to leave a message because I was busy doing exactly that!

The sky was phenomenal - I haven't seen it like that around here in years!

Watery Wednesday - Pedestrians on Bridge

Hwy 106 Bridge over Current River near Eminence, Missouri - October 2010

So, Kesley & I was driving around Sunday taking pics of the fall colors when we round a bend & Kes sees the sign in the top pic. She immediately says, "What? Why would they post a sign like that? Why are people on a bridge? What are they doing there?" She's really getting upset that a sign like this would be posted on such a dangerous road and on a bridge of all places!

We round the next bend & start across this bridge to see the sight on both sides & suddenly realize exactly why!

Well, I couldn't help but stop right there on the bridge & start gawking at the view & we open the car doors to get out, then it really hits us that we've became the 'Pedestrians on Bridge'!!!

By now we're laughing so hard that we're crying & we look up to see a vehicle rounding the bend heading toward us...

Jeez, I can only imagine that they had to think we were drunk seeing us both like that, hanging half out of the car...

then I actually FELL OUT!!!

I hid my face from them!!!

I found this barn down a country road somewhere here in SeMo!

I've been all over this area the last 2 weekends and can't remember exactly where I found which barn,

plus I've taken 1,195 pics in that time, too! =)

Scenic Sunday - Markham Springs

The spots you see in the sand are actually water & air bubbling up from the springs.

What I thought was the only spring there was small & I'd never found a sign that told how many 'gallons a day' flowed from it - however, I did find a web site that says there's actually 6 springs that flow into the pond on the property producing

'five million gallons a day'.

I knew it had to be small compared to other springs I've been to, but it's a really pretty place to visit.

The article also says that Buffalo Bill Cody once visited the springs...

Impressive for SeMo.

& as you can see, they're renovating it and should be finished Spring 2011.
The bottom shot was taken off of a sign in front of the house
from 150 years ago when Mr. Shaw first opened the gardens.

I heard this boat coming up the river while I was taking pics at

Keener Springs one day this summer & decided to get a shot of them.

It was about 100 degrees that day & hotter w/ the heat index,

so that water was looking really good!

Old Barns

I found this barn north of here near Williamsville, Missouri.

The horses and sheep were in a field to the right just out of view.
