Weekend Reflections - The Lookout at Current River

An experiment w/ my wide-angle lens... I like the blurred effect around the edges

My daughter, Kesley, & I took a ride up to The Lookout Saturday
to get some pics of the place all covered in snow...
We had to take her wheels cuz she's the one w/ the 4 wheel drive!
Isn't she cute all bundled up & comfy cozy!  =)

What a gorgeous place. Water in its liquid form is an unusual sight around here right now, so thanks for sharing these shots!

The second photo for the river is wonderful.

Although I like the idea, I'm generally too lazy (and too fast on the move) to play with lenses. I like your wide angle experiment and you're in a nice spot to play with your camera... and your daughter. The reflection shot I will post later is nowhere near as pretty as this.

Fun collection of photos for SWF, thanks for sharing and thanks for your kind comments on my post earlier

You need some more snow. :) The second picture is my favorite with the snow in the background.

Great pictures Tricia... I wish we had 4-wheel drive --but our Prius still seems to take us most everywhere we want to go... Love the picture of your daughter..

Thanks for sharing the beauty.
Hugs,
Betsy

Beautiful shots, Tricia! I think your experiment with the wide angle was very successful. Love your daughter's scarf - she does look cute and cozy indeed!

I also like the effect you got with your lens in that first photo. I hope you'll continue experimenting and continue to share with us.

I have one question: If that river ever become outdated, how do you get it current again? :-)

And one comment: I was not running around The Villages with no shirt or shoes...well, maybe no shirt, but still, I thought it was rather elitist of them to tell me I couldn't enter! And they weren't nice, either. They pointed south and said, "The zoo's that way!"

Can you imagine?

Now back to your picture. I'm not sure how you did that with a wide-angle lens, but, yes, I like the effect. I would try it on our river, but it's not current! And I hate to waste time on an outdated river. :-)

I like the other two pics, too. Nice of your daughter to haul you up to the snow where she had to stand by her 4-wheel drive, freezing to death while you gallivanted around taking pitchers!

Sheesh!

I should have joined in on your challenge.... Love your shots as well.

Hi Trish! You're making me blush! But you can keep doing it. Please?

Ah...we have three kids in all...two daughters and a son. I don't think any of them think I'm funny. Well, they think I'm funny, but not humorous. I think that's what they think. :-)

Usually, when I say something that I think is really funny, they say something like "Aaaargh!"

But I love 'em anyway!

wow are you fortunate to have a wide angle and the reflection is superb. I really like this.

Nice work with the wide angle - dreamy effect in that first one, and I like the perspective you got in the 2nd one ! Your daughter must be very patient ! (either that, or she owes you a lot of favours ! ;-))

i really like that 2nd pic. and the 3rd one, well, gosh, it really reminds me of someone, but i can't put my finger on it.

Looks like you two had a fun expedition! I really like that blurred effect on that first photo--very cool! Gives it a tilt-shift look.
