Poplar Bluff, Missouri Flood 2011

All pics taken Monday April 25th
Corner of F Street & Black Road looking in direction of Morocco & A Hwy.
Do you think this road may be impassable? =0
Shots of the same field & levee, but there isn't suppose to be any water at all...
the river is on the other side of that levee, however, this particular levee hasn't been breached, this field just holds water!
Do you see the flock of birds flying in the 3rd shot?

Bartlet Street Railroad Trestle taken from old Smiley Container property.
Same Railroad trestle taken from Bartlet Street Bridge.

Bartlet Street Bridge taken from old Smiley Container property with
the Poplar Bluff Twin Towers in the background.
That's a blue trash truck crossing the bridge.

Downtown foot bridge crossing over Black River leading to Clinton Park,
which is severely under water.
See that line of trees in the middle?
That's suppose to be the other side of the river on the bank of Clinton Park.

Another view of the foot bridge w/ the
downtown railroad tracks in the foreground.

We had sunshine, blue skies part of the day, & it was breezy,
BUT the rain is back & there's tornado & severe thunderstorm watches & warnings,
not to mention all the flash flood watches & warnings...
forecast tonight as of 9pm!

I WILL visit everyone's Barn Charm posts as soon as I can...
I've been trying to take as many shots of the flood as I can
& I've only been able to do so yesterday & today,
because it's been storming by the time I get off work!
On Sunday's post I mentioned that we'd had 4 days of these storms,
but I hadn't counted them correctly...
We've had 7 nights in a row of these storms & I'm sick of it!

Only some Curves & Levels adjustments made to these shots.

Hi Tricia, I sent you an email--hoping that you all are high and dry... Glad you are okay--but it's sad to see so much water. Hope the storms QUIT soon..

We are under an advisory for severe weather tonight and tomorrow. Yuk.

Stay SAFE.
Hugs,
Betsy

we had 'train car' storms this afternoon here in NE Texas - one right after the other. but happily the tornadoes did not touch down here, but close enough to cause concerns. some areas have been hit SO hard already this spring after such a tough winter...

That's an incredible amount of water! I hope you will be able to stay safe from it!

Yep, you got a bunch of water al right. I hope the storms start slowing down and the rain just quits. I feel bad for you guys out there. Floods are awful. Just glad you all are safe. MB

The Midwest has really been getting hammered by the rain and tornadoes. Hopefully the storms will let up here very soon. In the meantime hopefully you can stay dry.

Wow Tricia, I can't believe we were through there just before all this flooding. The second photo reminds me of the rail road bridge in Illinois when the Des Plaines would flood. Stay safe.

Glad to hear your safe n sound..but sad to see all the devastation with the flood waters. This has been a spring of horrible weather...waaaay toooo much rain!!!

That sure is a lot of water Tricia. We had a tornado warning last night, but it never came to pass thank goodness. Tornado watch for this afternoon into this evening, so we'll see. Truly a strange weather pattern the country is having.

I am glad you and your family are doing okay

I'm in France, we have also some flooding at the moment, but no tornadoes or storms as violent! It is truly a sad spectacle your images and hope you will not have a serious incident!

Wow - that's a lot of water. We've had a lot of storms too, but not like you have. Love the bridge pictures and I hope tomorrow is full of sunshine!
