Texture & TOO MUCH RAIN!

original

Just doing some more experimenting w/ textures...

Mother Nature must really be ticked off at all of us here in the mid west...
we're FLOODING!
We've had almost a constant sound of rumbling thunder, not to mention, severe thunderstorm, tornado, & flood WARNINGS
for 4 days straight & it isn't suppose to stop until Tues or Wed.
Flood stage on Black River is 16'... at noon today, it was at 18.8'
& expected to crest at 21'!
My NOAA radio won't shut up...
It's awful!

UPDATE - They're starting mandatory evacuations in the Poplar Bluff/Black River area this morning & there's more rain coming today & tonight... I may not be able to go to work because work is located in the evacuation area of town! Who can afford not to go to work? I can't, so they're just gonna have to let me swim to work...

UPDATE #2 2.50pm - They've raised flood treat from "major flooding" to "record severity" - how ominous sounding is that!
At least 3 sections of the Black River levee have been breeched & they say more levee breaks are imminent...
torrential rains are forecast for tonight & more tomorrow!
This isn't how Poplar Bluff should be making CNN news!!!

Outstanding work! and what I particularly found in your image, the lightness, delicacy, such elegance in the way you work your pictures! Really great!

I love the second photo. I remember living near the Des Plaines River and having it flood. I hope you and your loved ones are safe from the flooding.

I hope i don't fade away like the house is doing.
Rain! We seem to have rain everyday but not in great torrents like you are having. I hope yours stops and the rivers don't flood. MB

I know you have been getting a lot of bad weather. My niece was at the Cardinals game the night the tornado hit the airport. Stay safe and somewhat dry!

I like the wind-blown look of your experimentation. They are all attractive...it would be hard to pick one.
Sorry about the impacting weather...let us know how your swim to work turned out!

The textures add so much....

Stay safe....we have it too but I live on very high rocky ground!

Interesting. I, like you, love to mess around to see what I can do to photos.

LOVE that curtain blowing out the window! All the textures work great--would be hard-pressed to pick one. :)

Sorry you are flooding. We're getting a lot of rain here, but we have wildfires burning that need to be put out. Besides, we will be in a drought situation this summer and need rain desperately. Wish we could take some of yours...hope you get a respite from the rain soon!

Oh My Gosh, Tricia... I'm so sorry... Please be careful IF you go to work.. Don't drive through the high water.

Hope your home is high and safe...

Great texture pictures.

I've been following the flooding story in Poplar Bluff and was wondering about you. I hope your home is high and dry and it stays that way. If you try to get into work be safe.

Awesome photo and textures, the second one is my personal fave.

And my goodness, stay safe!!! We've had lots of rain here, but it pales in comparison to your severe weather. Thinking of you!
