This big guy has been around for quite some time...
I don't know how long Texas Longhorns live, but he's old!
He lives on a hillside near Van Buren, Missouri w/ the horses you see here
& sometimes he's out there grazing, sometimes he isn't...
but I can guarantee you'll see him at some point.
We've been traveling between Poplar Bluff & Van Buren (a river town) for years
& the kids have always kept an eye out for this dude
to see if they could catch a glimpse of him & those long horns!

21 Charmers Say?:
That is definitely quite a set of horns. I think I would keep my eye out for this guy if I were in the area.
Wow---that guy does have a huge rack!!!!! Wonder if he gets a headache or neckache???? ha ha
Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy
Thats really a long horn :). Great shot! Have a nice weekend! LG Tina
What gorgeous Imagine of this magnificient animal....I do love his loooong horns; he is just beautiful and looks very alike his Tuscan "cusins"....but they are grey; they absolutely do not have his beautiful red colour fur!!!!!!
How green it is in Missoury, Tricia...it is sooo inviting!!

Now those are some horns!
Those horns have to be heavy to carry around! Great images.
holy crap! i don't think i've ever seen a rack that large! wow!
He's an amazing specimen of long horn! Fine pastoral feeling shots with lovely greens and the grazing animals. Nice pictures.
I just love seeing the Texas Longhorns...I love that bottom shot. Those are some pretty big horns.
those are some long horns alright. he has a halter on so I'm guessing he's a pet. I would think it'd be uncomfortable toting around those things all day. but he's a natural. have a fun weekend Tricia.
What amazing long horns! Cute pics.
Wow, well those are some horns! hope a taxidermist does not spot him.
Never seen anything like that beast! Your photos are amazing, Tricia!
I just posted a barn blog and included a link to your website. Not sure how I was supposed to attach it here, but you can see it at www.babyboomerlaughline.blogspot.com
Enormous horns - and also enormous trees!
So pretty and green....lovely shots!
Wow, he does have some big and long horns. Cool looking dude. Great photos.
He's a beauty! Several ranchers around here keep a few longhorns and I always look for them and enjoy seeing them. One lives along a stream that I fish and he's huge but amicable.
Very nice place for taking photos.
Regards!
Impressive! My, he does have a beautiful set of horns on his head.
Do you know why they developed the long horns?
And I'll tell you never get involved in an argument with a Texas Longhorn if your a long way from a fence!
