Hi Tricia,
I really like how the boards are placed on that first barn. Really like your treatments of the images as well.
Nice shots!

I really like the scene you captured in the first photo, Tricia! It's very nice with the fences the cows and the barn.

Very nice images. Some of those are more air conditioned than others. :)

I love the first one. Love that there are animals still living there and that you showcased the entire scene. I have no idea how you do that mouse over thing...very cool.

Wonderful barns, Tricia! There is so much character...and you've recorded it beautifully.

The herringbone pattern of the boards in the first barn is very nice! I wonder if that makes it stronger, or just more attractive.

Your barns are very interesting and good examples of barn styles. I was especially impressed with the third barn. Your first one makes such a nice pastoral picture with the animals in the shot. Fine post!

Hi Trish, I am here with my unsual barn charm.

I am so amazed at the many barns in your area. This meme has introduced me to research what CA has to offer on barns. Hope to be able to join you in the weeks to come.

Id like to invite everyone to my blog Amish Stories today to read a post from old order Mennonite Jean of New York state. Jean has taken-in a foster child named Michael whose parents are no longer able to take care of him. He's English and Jeans family is old order Mennonite (horse and buggy) but that makes no difference in the love that this young man is receiving from this family. Thank you folks and i hope to see some of you drop by the blog. Richard

Super barn, Tricia. Alittle work on the roof and the cows will go right in or at least hay could be stored.

BTW: I posted a barn and still haven't got my computer fixed and probably never will---I hope I will. MB

That first barn is holding on tight, determined to keep standing. With the original photo, the 'blonde' cow is much more obvious---cute cow and a bit like a daisy in all that green grass.
The second one is a nice patchwork of doors and repairs, but the third is a little sad.
Great finds! :>)
Those 10,000 acres are reclaimed strip mining land that is being used to breed and preserve endangered animals as well as providing a haven for others. It is affiliated with the Columbus, Ohio zoo.

so cool! i wish we had barns like these around here! i liked the darker green colors in the original on that first one - the edited version lost the poor orange cow on the right =) they're all neat, i like the angled wood on that first one though!

I tried three times without luck to post the pics of the barn in Cerro, NM. Please come to my site at: http://annellannell.wordpress.com You will see the photos! Thanks so much!

Love your collection of Barn images (linked and all). The older barns that are still standing today is a testament to sound building standing the test of time and a reminder of days gone by. I'm in the process of shooting barn scenes whenever the opportunity presents itself.

It is unfortunate there isn't some effort to preserve these historical buildings that represent for many of us the hard gruelling work of our fore-fathers.
