This drew me right in... and I would literally LOVE to see the inside. The barn tugs at my heartstrings as well. Great layer on the house - it is charming both ways. Very nice work.
Hi Sinbad & I, I doubt that very very seriously... I live in a house that was built in 1942 & has already been thru 2 renovations, one of which was MAJOR, completely gutted & is now like new! So 177 years? Nah, not even 77!!! They don't do anything these days like they used to... sad to say, but true
A fine shot of this very early courthouse and later home. I like being able to see the original which looks very good in this one. Nice old structures in this series.
What a cool structure. So old! Would love to know what kind of law breaking was going on in 1834 and how court was conducted back then. So fascinating!
26 Charmers Say?:
wow. Both structures are really, really neat! Nice images!
So amazing that something built of wood should last so long!
That looks like a neat place to have as a little retreat far away from it all. Wonder if the homes built today would last 177 years?
Wow - gorgeous pictures of a beautiful house.
I like the "old" effect, but this house also has beauty in its own right!
I wouldnt want to have to go to trial in there.

That cabin built in 1834 and still standing, that blows me away. My question is "is someone living in that now"?. Richard

Hi Amish Stories, No I don't think anyone lives there. I think the Historical Society takes care of it, now. Thank you =)
Hey Jim, Needless to say, I don't think I wanna go to trial ANYWHERE, much less here! LoL! =)
ciao Tricia....WONDERFUL, the first creative work...I do love it indeed; it is magic and just so romantic too; GORGEOUS!!!!
...how about a picnic around there...?
ciao ciao & a great weekend!!!!

That's a neat little cabin!
Oh wow, I love both of these buildings Tricia. You find the neatest structures.

I love the transformation!
Wow ---that's an awesome house to be built in 1834... I like the original better than the textured--but they are both good.
Hugs,
Betsy
oh the history this little house has!

Oh I love that old house! Love what you did to the picture too :)
That second structure is very interesting. I like your edit of the picture of the house, but the original is very good as well.
What great old buildings! I love the processing too!
I love that! It's good to see those structures preserved!
These are wonderful Tricia!!
Does someone still live in the first one?
How lucky you were to be able to photograph this!
Thank you so much for sharing this at the Creative Exchange.
Have a wonderful evening!

Lovely to see such an old wooden building still in one pieces. Makes me think of Little House on The Prairie era.
