Barn Charm 62

Near Ellsinore, Missouri
July 4th 2011

I haven't made any decisions, yet,
but I sincerely appreciate everyone's help on the barn collage
for mom for Christmas,
& although I love the idea, canvas is just too expensive for me, right now...
maybe next Christmas on that idea! =0
Definitely some wonderful & helpful ideas that I will be checking out!
Thanks again! =)

Just a reminder...
The Florin Street Band
Christmas song "My Favorite Time of Year"
(the video at the top of my blog)
is available for purchase as of today on Amazon.

Great barn. Also, on your barn collage ... I think I'd go for a few less photos within it and focus on maybe 6 of them ... you have some great barns there. Go to target or ikea for frames ... they have some good ones that are matted and fit an 8-10 print (I did this for hubby's office) Maybe buy 2 and do two sets of collages and she can hang them together!

This kind of barn with the large loft opening and 'wings' on either side is one of my favorite barn designs. It reminds me of one I used to play in when I was younger. You could stand and look out the loft and see everything. :)
I saw your post about the photo for your Mom but didn't comment. I tend to agree with those suggesting fewer barns in the collage. I think less is more in this case and would give a greater impact. I'm sure we'll love whatever you do as will your Mom.

I like your barn with its interesting roof and extensions on either side. A very good "find" to shoot. It also has good texture in the vertical boards.

Hmm. Who knew barb wire and a wire fence could look so beautiful in front of this barn. Very nice capture!

A wonderful barn and a fantastic meme.
I will try to share more of the barns here in Cheshire in the UK..most of the older ones were brick built and have been coverted into luxurious country houses.
Many thanks for accepting me.

Tricia, I'll suggest if not canvas, you can still do a multimedia. Print the photos individually and use poster board with some dry sponged paint for the mat. Put the photos on or under it with the spaces cut out (or a little of both). Then hot glue wooden pieces, you might find flat little barns at a craft store, or dried flowers, something that matches the barns and the room where you think she'll display it. I did pillows for my aunt with her dos' picture on them that matched her living room last year. She almost cried!

I love you barn this week! Weathered, yet the roof is still so red!!

It looks very weathered and it looks like it's in good shape - a combination you don't often see. Now I want to sneak inside.
