My mom told me yesterday that she would like to have
a collage of my barn pics made for her for Christmas,
so I've been going thru them all day today
& these are the ones I've picked out... so far!
I think it's ok, but I'm not sold on it
& I'm not as creative as a lot of my blogs friends out there.

What do you think
& how do you think I can make this beautiful?
What can I have it printed on?
I would like to have it printed larger than just an 8X10 picture frame...
she wants to have it framed & hung on the wall
& I want to have it printed w/ a 'Lustre Finish'.

Help! =)

33 Charmers Say?:
I wish I could help but am not good at that kind of thing. I print everything 8X10 and don't know how to adjust to another size. Yikes! I am going to check back and see what others say about this. I like the way you've arranged these. Very nice!!
have you considered having it printed on canvas? i'd say with a black border edge? just a thought.
I was going to suggest the canvas too. Lovely collage!
i also am wondering if a collage of 4 or 5 barns, then a couple of single 'canvases' of smaller sizes so she could hang them as a grouping? it would also allow you to single out some of your favorites for the solo pics, too. just another idea...
It is a wonderful collage, love the photos. I'm sure you Mom will love here gift. Have a great week!
I think it's great, Tricia... Get is printed on canvas... That would be awesome.
Hugs,
Betsy
Printing on canvas is a great idea, but can get expensive. What about 4-5 separate prints, framed separately, and hung as a grouping instead of one large print of smaller pics? That's generally how I give my photos as gifts.
TesWis girl has some great ideas! The pictures are a excellent. This will be a treasure.
I like that idea a lot, TWG, cuz this collage seems too 'busy', esp to hang on a wall! Thank you!
Photo stores can print it and laminate it on a hard surface. It would look lovely!
I like TWG's ideas too. For hanging on the wall I think fewer photos in the collage would have more impact, and then several smaller size photos to hang with it. Having it printed on canvas would look good too, or print on matte paper. Whatever you choose to do I'm sure your mom is going to love it!
I like TWG's idea too. Some separate pictures would make a really nice grouping!
I agree with many of the comments, Tricia. Canvas would be gorgeous! If you have it done at a local craft shop that does framing, they can make suggestions. Maybe an element like a star or small wooden wheel replica done on top to add depth to the canvas? Do it as a multimedia piece.
I'm really just getting into editing (I learned about Picnic from you). But I might be able to help with your print. I have been using MPix for a couple of years with good success. The picture quality is excellent. They have different papers, boards, and even canvas or gallery wraps. I have done calendars there twice, some family portraits, and an 11x14.
Have it printed on canvas. That would look awesome. The collage you have looks great to me! Don't worry, she'll love whatever you give her. Good luck!!!!
Your idea of the collage is great. You have so many I have no idea how you will narrow it all down, but you're off to a good start. Love how you've thrown in a horseshoe and farm animals for interest.
What a great idea your mom has!! and I know she will love it !! I like the idea of canvas as well. I'm sure it will be perfect!!
I love the collage as it is, but I think Theresa has some great ideas, too! Hope you show us what you decide on.
Sorry to post again, but I just had an idea! How about a four season barn collage? Just a thought.
This is an incredible collection!
I like this pictures. It's wonderful!
An other idea is to make a calendar month (with black background. The colours from the photos are much better).
I wish you a nice day!

I'm with the canvas crowd. If you get groupon, they sometimes have $45 Canvas on Demand coupons for 16x20 canvas.
Nice collage!
What a lovely gift your photos will make! I like TWG's ideas.
Lovely present Tricia!!!
Wonderful photos!!!
Many kisses
It's lovely and would look great on canvas!
Otherwise try www.redbubble.com ... you can upload your pic and then choose a format.
I like the idea of canvas as I have a photo of a barn of mine mounted on canvas and no frame (get the sides wrapped). Also, the size depends upon her available wall space... I made mine huge. I was wondering, though if it wouldn't be best to select ONE favorite for a scene for the wall - I really like the far right, middle - and then make a book (like 100) of your favorite barn and "detail" photos... I hope I didn't confuse you - it is just an idea.
Whatever you decide I 'm sure she will LOVE it! :)
Ahhh... but your mom specifically requested a collage. So forget what I said! :)
Great idea. I used to make collages but now my computer is not well and won't let me. I had Picasa and if you open up the sections a little and have a colored background it would look great. MB
Your idea for a college is wonderful. You could 'what if' till the cows come home. Go with your gut feeling.
The end result will be appreciated because its done with love.
Merry Christmas!
What an awesome gift this will be! Your barns are all so charming and rustic...love what you have picked out so far! I vote for the canvas also! Your Mom is going to love it!!!!
Hi Tricia, this is a great idea for Mom's Christmas gift. Places that print photos like Walgreens have collage options that cost the easy price of a poster. I made one for my daughter with photos of her at all her college football games and it came out BEAUTIFUL! It was very inexpensive and you simply add your photo selections onto a pre-laid-out collage. I then framed it with a ready-made frame on sale. Good luck!
Tricia, I just had a thought...not sure how expensive it would be. But you could go to a place that mattes and have them do a collage within a matte. Not sure how to explain it...have different holes cut in the same mat. You could even have different sizes cut. That way there would be separation between the pics, but it would sort of like a collage.
Your Mom is very blessed to have such a talented daughter. Hope you'll share the end result! Merry Christmas to you both!
