I lIke both as well ! I love taking black and white when its a old building or old farm equipment , for me it depends on the subject and how I see and feel about it ! Have a great day !
I tend to always like color better and this picture in color is beautiful but there are wonderful things about the black and white as well....The road seems to be so more dominate in the black and white and really draws your eye in.....
In this case I prefer the color because the sky is bright blue. I think the black and white looks like the sky is a little ominous, although it's still casting shadows.
I wonder, too. but I have to add in sepia. The pictures of Eloise I just posted I put up in B/W and sepia. Like you, I could not make up my mind. The same thing with the road in front of the house....I put it up in color and sepia. I wonder how you actually choose one medium and stick to it and it alone. Both of your have their good points. There is something about the twinkling b/w that appeals to me. genie
I like the B/W , but it's a little busy. I'd love to see a bit of playing around with the color channels and levels to bring out the drama more. The Color shot is just beautiful.
I think I am leaning toward the B&W. I tend to see much more textures and contrasts which work well in this composition. And I love that leading path. I hope you were spared from any harm during those storms!
I love them both.. but I do like the color best... the quiet lane stands out most there! Thank you for sharing on 'Weekly Top Shot.' I hope you'll come share again next week...
Stunning captures! I love the vibrancy of the color photo and how you can really see the light in the black and white. Thank you for sharing! I have a link up called Tones on Tuesday that I would love if you joined.

Both are lovely. I'm kinda leaning towards the color this time...
Happy WW!
Spectacular they are both ... but I lean to the color if a choice, Tricia.

I am a black and white fan but in this case to difficult to call.
These are the kind of things I can spend hours trying to decide! Both are great!
Both renditions are great! That's a very rare photo to be equally attractive in color and B&W! Nice!
I love old roads and paths through the trees. Since I love fall colored leaves, I'll go for the colored one. But the black and white is great too.
i like more the colors but bw is really dramatic :)
Tricia,
I love black and white, but I think I like the first one here best. Love the light in it.
I just heard that Missouri had some tornadoes. I hope you are doing okay.
Tough decision, love them both, can't wait until the leaves return, right now up in the great white north the land is covered in white. Diane

The Color shot is just beautiful.
beautiful shot, would love to take a walk alone the trail
The colored one for me....
I love the colored one. Boy would I love to take a walk down that road!
Beautiful photo.
I like both versions.
Regards and best wishes
I do like the black and white, but the colored version causes me to inhale deeply. Aaaaaah. =) Have a great day!
Love them both! Simply gorgeous Tricia! Thanks' :)
I would agree...I like them both for different reasons!
Either way, silly! You do good no matter the color or lack thereof...
Are you tired of the grey snowy days of winter?
Hope you avoided the tornadoes!
Being that we don't have a lot of green or trees here- I love the color version. What a beautiful place.

Both are very pretty shots, but for today I am feeling that black and white vibe a little more. Nice !
I can't choose - I like them both!

Both beautiful in their own way. I think the B&W adds a bit of mystery to the shot. The colour is just stunning with such lovely contrasts.
I'm totally loving the color... but that could be because when I look out my window everything looks black and white! I'm missing green.
I often prefer b&w, but the colors are so beautiful, I prefer it in this photo. Nice shot!
I love the bright, warm atmosphere of the first image. Truly beautiful.
