The Returning To Nature

mouse over above for original, which was taken in my camera's b&w setting... too gray.
I enjoy photographing these old abandoned shacks,
but last summer when I walked up to this place,
it was a mistake I'd suffer through for 3 weeks.
I walked through a nest of seed ticks!

Nature has a way of creating beauty as she reclaims oud structures!

Beautiful shots, Tricia! I like the vines covering that old shack.

Never heard of seed ticks. I hope I never walk through them either. Yes, the B & W mode on cameras leave a lot to be desired. Same too for the one click B & W conversion in post processing photo programs. A good B & W takes a few steps more to accomplish.

Beautiful images, Tricia! I love the vines covered building. Are seed ticks the same as jiggers? They are awful.

What a beautiful old shack! I share your love for old shacks, abandoned houses and barns... I just wish I lived closer to the country so I could shoot them every day. I am rather jealous.

It's great living in the city, but my favourite places are the country and the beach... so peaceful!

Seed tick are nasty critters! I love the old homes/shacks left out in the country abandoned as much as the barns :) At first I thought you were going to say poison ivy!

Oh geesh- those are awful! Clorox- works like a charm. Nice photos!

Wonderful, wonderful photos; I, too, love photographing abandoned structures.
And, the seed ticks....eeewwwww.
I've never had any personal experience (and don't want to).
Full-grown ticks are awful enough,
but at least you can see them :)

What a price to pay for these beautiful shots.....

I always find it amazing how neglect will return to the original.....

This is a fine example of how nature always wins in the long run. I like the closer in shot in color too. Nice series. I'm not acquainted with seed ticks, but they sound ominous.

Beautiful. It's amazing the way nature eventually reclaims its own.
Ticks creep me out.
