Barn Charm ღ115ღ

October 16th 2011
Hwy K near Akers, Missouri

The weather was a lil dicey last night w/ tornado & severe thunderstorm warnings & temps near 70,
but it sure turned off cold today with a high of 36! =0
It had been warm for a couple weeks & the day it gets cold,
guess what happens?
My car window broke... in the down position...
& it's suppose to get down to 21 tonight,
so it's gonna be a cold ride to work in the morning!

Looks like this one could be saved if someone wanted. :)
It's lovely nestled in the trees!

Not the right time for your window to go bad. Bundle up!
It turned cold here too but only down to 40 today from our 70.
Although we could see snow flakes tonight.

Tricia, I hate when things are going wrong. I am sorry that your car window broke. And I hope you will be able to fix it soon.

That is a barn I would love some day to find and photograph.

It's beautiful and has it's special charm.

And I love a roof and its color.

Beautiful and wonderful picture!

I hope she gets fixed up, but if she doesn't I hope that lovely wood is reused.

Good luck with your window! Brrrr!

What a drastic change in weather! I hope you get your window back up! Love the big old weathered barn! You almost expect to see a horse looking over that railing!

I'd like to have those barn boards on one of my walls. Great character. Bundle up going to work in the morning. We're supposed to get 2" of snow.

What a great barn! I love the shape of that barn, very much like the barn I posted. It's about 4 degrees here right now and we got our first real snow of the season which left us with more than a foot of the stuff. Seems now like it's always been here. lol Thanks so much for hosting. I have a special place in my heart for barns.♥

I like the way the wood on this barn is aging.

Hope you wear a warm coat and mittens to work tomorrow!

Tricia - I goofed and linked the wrong photo and URL to this week's Barn Charm. I don't know how to delete it. I'll put the correct link in and if you could please delete entry No. 14 (it's showing a pic of a vintage fire engine - far from a barn!) I would greatly appreciate it. I hope it's okay if I link the correct one now

Kathy said...

Tricia - I'll get this right in a minute. The URL is correct, the picture is wrong, so just leave it if you want and I'll put a note on the blog about my goof. Linky won't let me post another one - that's when I realized I had the right URL and it was just the wrong picture!

I hope you don't freeze in the morning. We've had those crazy up and down temps too. Love the barn you shared.

It's a grand old barn.
I hope you get your window fixed.
It was zero here this morning. I think our snow is here to stay. Although it is supposed to get to the 30's this week.

I really like this barn and I would be using it. Nice shot.

My computer would not let me access Blogger at all today but finally here I am. Dang Yahoo and Google. MB

I like your barn for its well weathered wood, rusty roof and the interesting doors and opening on the front.
I always wonder how the owner used the barn. This is a good one.

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear about your car window. Hope you get it fixed quickly. Yes, it has turned COLD here in Missouri! Yikes.

Love your barn. I think the old weathered wood barns are so charming.

Love the old wood and rusty roof on this one! It's a beauty! I think you've had your share of bad karma!

Tricia, a great barn find! Sorry about your car window, stay warm!

That's a nice looking barn!!

Sorry about your window--sounds like you have an uncomfortable drive to work tomorrow. The Midwest often gets our cold arctic air after a cold spell moves south from here. The perception of cold is all relative though. They're predicting our high to be 21 on Wednesday, which has everyone commenting we're having a heat wave after the 35 to 40 below we've had for the last several weeks. Of course, even if it's 21 degrees I'll still have my windows rolled up tight and the heat on! Maybe turned down to low though.....

Pretty old barn - love the shape!
So sorry about your window: bundle up. Hope you can get it repaired soon.

I like the warm weather look of your photo. It has turned very cold here, too. Good luck with the window not working. That happened to me once. I happened to have a warm scarf along, thank goodness.

What a beauty! It looks like the Rifleman should be standing there with his son....what was his name? I loved that show. I loved westerns, as a matter of fact. Maybe that plays into the fact that I love barns. Think?

Hope you get your window fixed soon.

As previously noted, I'm a little discombobulated this week and my game is off! I'm running late and it's only Wednesday! Anyhow, I love the texture of this barn's wood and it's beautifully capped with a red, rusty roof - my favorite kind!

Lowell said...

I was going to say you could stop and spend some time in this barn on your way to work in order to warm up but I think the barn is a bit too drafty!

Glad to hear you got your window fixed. But it is always something else that costs more money. Always!

Oh gosh, this is a lovely barn, especially with the gate boards going horizontally instead of vertically like the siding.
