I couldn't decide which one I liked best of this lil boy (his dog is chasing him back there)
so I'm posting both color & instead of black & white, I took a shot at platinum.
The more I look at it, I'm liking the platinum more & more instead of the color version.
Do you see the buggy eyed M&M back there?
At one time, he was an M&M dispenser & I couldn't part w/ him...
I have all but the brown stuffed M&M's! =)
I've been reading my Dummies book & experimenting all week.
I'm learning lots about exposure, white balance & all that good stuff.
It's a work in progress & it won't turn perfect overnight, but I AM improving...
Note, there's no awful orange color anymore...
except on the last, but it's a 'lights out' shot.
Here's a link to the orange village shots from last week
if you need a reminder! =0
I've been watching the news about the shootings in Newtown, Ct.
& I just don't know what to say, except I'm praying for each & everyone!

That's an adorable village!
very nice...the lighting is much better!
These look really great Tricia! Good for you to learn all that stuff. I think I need that book too! lol
Really great photos! I like the one in platinum. I think I need the dummies book, too!
I'm in love with your village. I've been messing with my camera too, what Dummies book do you have?
Your depth of field is amassing!
!!!!!!!!
what a cute village!!
Your little village is so cute. I like the one in platinum.
Excellent village photos! I've had a little practice at it too as I do a North Pole village every year--it's gotten a little out of hand and has grown to quite a thriving town. And I always take lots of photos every year, with mixed results. Of course, I use mostly the T&E method (trial and error).
The black and white shot seems to make the little boy stand out more. These are all fantastic! I guess I need a book. :)
Well done, Tricia! The Christmas village photos are wonderful. Happy Sunday!
Cute and fun details! Macro miracles!
Advent regards from Eagan
awesome macros!! love the backgrounds in all of them!!
Your depth of field continues to be wonderful! I especially like the truck with the bridge and policeman in the background.
Nice work Ms. Tricia!
I don't know anything about exposures or white whatever! What I do know, is that these images are beautiful! What a pretty village!
Love the foreground subjects and DOF! Makes me feel like I'm the same size! Very cool photos!
Your platinum experiment has a dreamy quality that I love. How much fun you must have getting these much loved figures out each year and setting up your village. Dog lovers--including this one-- much call favorites for the boy and his dog.
Yes, heart is heavy today to see that list of names of the victims in the paper and to see their ages. Heartbreaking line for one article ". . .many still had their baby teeth."
That's one of the things I want to do this winter...learn a little. Newtown is only about 70 miles from us; 15 miles from where I grew up. It is horrible, so sad that this young man's mental health went unnoticed!...:)JP
Beautiful shots - all of them! I love Christmas villages and I like seeing your close ups. Makes me feel like I could step into it.
These pictures are great! Cute little Christmas village!
Now this is what you call a holiday village. Beautiful shots, but I don't need to ell you that. You already know.
Lovely and peaceful setting.
