The Big Guy's Comin' to Town...

but he's gonna miss the snow by just a few hours.
Our Winter Storm Watch for Tuesday night has been upgraded & extended
to a Blizzard Watch until Wednesday afternoon.
100% chance of snow Tues night
& what was only a 20% chance for Wed morning, is now 100%.
I'm floored, because we rarely get snow, much less a blizzard!
You can bet your bottom dollar I'll be taking lots of pics...
I LOVE watching falling snow! =)

How special that you are getting snow! We had thunderstorms and tornado watches all day. A/C on all day too and now the fireplace is going. What a day! Wishing you a very blessed Christmas and new year!!

I love blizzards when I don't need to be somewhere, there's something really special about being snowed in at home! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, Tricia. Enjoy the snow!

I like these Christmas images. Hope you had a white Christmas. Ours was dull and gray and today we're just getting some messy, icy, sleety stuff.

A fine seasonal greeting. I hope you blizzard is beautiful and has many photo opportunities but no problem in the aftermath. Let us know how it came off.

The lighting is long exposure, in the dark, with at f22, ISO 100. I played with several lengths of time and I can't remember exactly but probably around 25" - 30". I used a tripod and a timer to avoid camera shake. I may have even done some light painting on that one. I took a flashlight and painted light on the figures I wanted to stand out. You don't have to shine the light on the figures the entire time- paint like you would with a brush. This is all new to me so I'm not an expert. I saw a photo with the radiant lights and I wanted to try one. You have some beautifully lit decorations to try it on.
Oh, and because it was pretty dark I had to shine a flashlight on the area I wished to focus on. I think you could manually focus the camera and then turn the lights off. I'm an amateur so you probably know more about this than I do:-). Happy shooting!!
